Summary of Suzuki speaks

In his video, David Suzuki tried to explain what the environment is. He says that the environment is the mother of all humans and they are an integral part of nature because of the four sacred elements of biodiversity. He explains how an element cannot live without an other element (earth, fire, air and water). First, the earth is the result of fire and water and that consequence vegetation. Air, created by photosynthesis, is the fuel that keeps humans alive and it’s stuck in them. Also, 60 % of human’s body is water. They don’t have a gauge but the body knows when it needs water. The fourth element, fire, is the energy they need to be functional. It comes from the sun and the plants absorb it and transform it in energy that they can use. Human beings are all connected by some sort of link that brings them together, so they are elements. He said that even the smallest thing can affect the biggest thing. That’s interconnectedness and everything has consequences on everything else. Human beings’ responsibilities are to keeping the world healthy for future generations. Because of the media, like internet or television, the world is fragmented into violence. The world suffers psychologically and spiritually because of that. Humans are a super species because of their number, hyper consummation, powerful technologies and their unnatural habitat. They’re called a super species because they’re the only ones who were able to entering in biological and chemical biodiversity.
